Rev Sid Grindley (Lead Pastor) returned to Sydney in January 2008 after 18 years in the Central West of NSW. He heads the Pastoral Team which overseas the ministry at Northside. He has a passion to see healthy growing churches where individuals can learn together and develop as disciples of Jesus. Sid enjoys being involved in music, is a football [soccer] tragic, and enjoys tennis. He also loves spending time with family & friends. Sid is married to Jennie and they have 3 adult children, 2 of whom are married.
Tim Giovanelli (Associate Pastor) is from Sydney but spent 6 years living in Africa, working in the UK and studying at Regent College in Canada. Tim is the Pastor of the Northside PM and Northside Nights services. His passion is seeing the good news of the gospel getting hold of people's lives and the transforming effect this has. He enjoys a good surf, swimming at Balmoral and eating his way through Crows Nest.
Ministry Leaders
Steve Bernard (Worship Pastor) leads the worship and creative arts team at Northside with a particular emphasis on the PM congregation. Steve is passionate about helping people encounter God through worship. Steve is married to Claire.
David MacCullagh (Childrens and Families Ministry) is super-keen to see children grow in their knowledge and love of God and be equipped for a life of worship. That's why, after teaching locally and internationally in public and private schools for 14 years, he studied theology at Sydney Missionary and Bible College to pursue full-time ministry. He spends his spare time running a small photographic business, getting involved in missions work, making sawdust and body surfing.
Eliane Miles (Youth and Young Adults Leader) oversees Northside’s youth and young adults. She is passionate about raising up a generation of young people who are madly in love with Jesus and activating the Kingdom of God in their spheres of influence. Eliane loves travel, missions, culture, study, and music… and, of course, her husband Chris.
Operations Staff
Helene Francois (Director of Operations) Helene Francois is responsible for operations management at Northside. This is a fairly new concept to the structure of churches, so Northside is at the forefront by having created such a position. The idea is to have frameworks and defined processes in place, as well as up to date tools and facilities to support effectively all the ministries and services to the community to which Northside is committed.
Whilst born in France, Helene became an Australian citizen in 2008. Having worked in the corporate world for some time and most recently as the manager of a technical department, Helene decided that her organisation and planning skills could be put to good use in the life of a Church and Northside was to be the place. She is looking forward to contribute to this community of Christians so that even more life can grow at Northside.
Amanda Jones (Office Administrator) looks after general administration in the office and works 3 days a week. As the point of first contact in the office, she aims to reflect God's welcoming love to all. Amanda is married to Graham Jones, the treasurer at Northside Baptist, and she has three children. Amanda has previously worked as a social worker, in a bookshop and in a legal office. She's attended Northside for more than 25 years, but isn't really as old as that makes her sound! She also plays netball 3-4 times a week and loves reading.
Nicole Reddy (Communications and Events) manages communications, events and coordinates courses here at Northside. She is also completing her degree at UNSW focusing on Development Studies. She is passionate about seeing people and communities touched and transformed by God's love and hopes to work with local communities in social justice projects when she's completed her degree.
